A lthough it feels like summer just started, fall is quickly approaching, and we couldn’t be more excited. You can feel it in the air. It has to be one of our favorite seasons. It’s not too hot and it’s not too cold. Autumn symbolizes a new start and really feels like the start of a new year. The leaves are changing beautiful colors and crunching under our feet, we can finally layer our clothes, and our favorite hot drinks are back. Here are just a few of the many things to look forward to this October.
Apple picking at a local orchard is a must during the fall months. It makes for a great family activity and you get to pick the best and freshest seasonal fruit. The peak time for apple picking is dependant on where you are living, but generally, the prime time to go is between September to early October. There are usually several apple varieties to choose from such as Snowsweet, Paula Red, and Honeycrisp just to name a few. There is something so satisfying about picking your own apples. Once you’ve collected your produce, you can even whip up an apple pie or try your hand at homemade applesauce.
