Apple picking at a local orchard is a must during the fall months. It makes for a great family activity and you get to pick the best and freshest seasonal fruit. The peak time for apple picking is dependant on where you are living, but generally, the prime time to go is between September to early October. There are usually several apple varieties to choose from such as Snowsweet, Paula Red, and Honeycrisp just to name a few. There is something so satisfying about picking your own apples. Once you’ve collected your produce, you can even whip up an apple pie or try your hand at homemade applesauce.
Halloween

Halloween is a holiday loved by all, and for many reasons. There are so many costumes to choose from, endless candy, and many parties to attend. Kids and adults alike can attest to Halloween being one of their favorite holidays. It is a great time for celebration and allows us to show our creative side. Maybe you go with something cute, or maybe you go for something scary. There is room for everyone to showcase their creativity through costume. It’s also one of the only times out of the year, besides April Fool’s Day, that we can play practical jokes on one another.

Pumpkin spice has become the flavor of fall, and it would not be the fall season if this spice wasn’t involved. From pumpkin spice cake to pumpkin spice scented candles to your favorite pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks, you can find this spice in just about anything. Pumpkin spice is a staple in the month of October and is probably the thing that gets us most excited about fall. There is nothing quite like cozying up with a warm pumpkin spice drink on a brisk fall day. The powerful cinnamon, allspice smell is addicting, and studies have actually shown that this smell triggers nostalgic, cozy memories. No wonder we love it so much.
