In the world of business, entrepreneurs are often required to prove themselves. Prove whether their business plan is viable, or more importantly, are they themselves fit to carry out the business plan? Regardless of how coherent the business plan is, the most important ingredient to success is confidence. The likelihood of the business succeeding, and the entrepreneurs themselves being able to execute the plan all depends on whether or not entrepreneurs are confident enough. Confidence stems from self-belief; believing that you are indeed capable of doing whatever it is that you have set out to do! Confidence is the force that helps you forge your way through. Because if you don’t believe it’s possible, then it can never be possible!
Many believe that this confidence often borderlines with arrogance in the case of the most successful entrepreneurs around the world! Take Elon Musk for example. He has sent ripples throughout the tech world, doing the impossible. Doing what many told him could not be achieved, but he continued to prove them wrong. Many other entrepreneurs take their inspiration from Mr. Musk, who despite all odds continues to make his way through, working to transform transportation, both on Earth and in space. Patrice Motsepe, Africa’s first black billionaire, takes his inspiration from Mr. Musk as well. He claims that it was primarily confidence that aided him to acquire the title of Africa’s first black billionaire. There is much for entrepreneurs to take away from this idea.
Whether you are launching a start-up or are struggling to keep your existing business afloat, it is imperative that you have confidence in yourself, and fully believe that it is possible to achieve whatever it is that you want to achieve! While it is obviously important to have a coherent plan and excellent strategies, if you do not have the confidence, then neither is unlikely to work in your favor.
