Skims, Kim Kardashian’s shapewear and lingerie brand, has just announced its latest collaboration with Fendi, the Italian fashion house. The collection, which will launch on November 9th, includes form-fitting garments including hosiery, underwear, sportswear, and even a bonded leather dress. Each piece will be covered with the Skims x Fendi monogram print. The clothes take on a very minimalist look, which is what brought this brand’s success since its creation in 2019. The brand doesn’t have any plans of slowing down anytime soon. Last year, Skims made a deal with Nordstrom, and they have only been growing since. Interestingly enough, by sticking to consumer trends, Skims released flesh-colored face masks, and the official underwear outfitter for Team USA was Skims. Kim Kardashian seems to always be looking two steps ahead and is leading the way for the next shapewear empire.

Kim Jones, the creative director of Fendi, got the idea of partnering with Kardashian during a team meeting in Rome. In a statement, Jones said, “Suddenly, all the women went silent and started looking at their phones. I didn’t know what was going on, but they were waiting for the launch of the new SKIMS collection. It was then that I thought: let’s do something together.” When she first came out with Skims, West explained in an interview with WSJ Magazine, “I always loved shapewear. I would find that I couldn’t find shapewear that would be my skin tone. I really wanted to launch my own shapewear that took all of the designs that I was cutting up myself, that I was dying myself.” But her biggest goal with this brand was to make it inclusive in regards to age and size.
With Skims new collab with Fendi, it nicely blends both brand and items ranging from shapewear, lingerie, swimwear, outwear, and accessories. In a statement, West explains, “Both Fendi and Skims have a cultural power very different from each other, but equally as strong. The innovation in fabrics and fit typical to Skims paired with the luxury and quality of Fendi may feel unexpected to some people, but the similarities between our creative vision and goals are so closely aligned. It’s that tension that excites me.” The American mogul has worked tirelessly to build a strong reputation for herself in the fashion world, and her strong fan base on social media allows fans to follow her every move as she gets ready to launch her newest collection.
