According to Nintendo, the maker of the popular game Super Mario, an animated film about a famous character will be released in 2022.
Work on the computer-generated film was announced by the company back in 2018, and as recent announcements show, work on the project is still ongoing.
The producers of the animated film are Nintendo CEO and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto and Studio Illumination CEO Chris Melandander.
Illumination is a disgusting me and the minion’s release company, thus, Mario is in safe hands. The film will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
Nintendo has promised fans that the company will “be actively involved in project planning, development, and creation.” According to them, work is underway to expand the visual side of the project, although part of it may not be related to Mario.
No other details about the untitled film have been released yet, though Mario fans are already looking forward to seeing their favorite character on the big screen.
Nintendo also recently announced that Mario’s favorite classic games will be back for a limited time.
Users’ favorite games: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy – which have been released on Nintendo 64, GameCube, and Wii – will be back this time with minor changes to Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Classic games will be presented with updated graphics and improved working skills. Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be available for purchase from tomorrow, September 18.
