Netflix has confirmed the third season of the popular TV series, The Umbrella Academy, on streaming service. Filming for the 10-season season will begin in February 2021 in Toronto.
The main characters of the series – Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castanieda, Amy River-Lampman, Robert Schien, Aiden Gallagher, Justin H. Mins, Ritu Aria and Colm Fior – see you again in Season Three. With that, the executive producer, Steve Blackman, returns.
It has become the third most-watched TV show on the platform since the series premiered on Netflix last year.
The Umbrella Academy, produced by Universal Content Productions, is based on the Dark Horse comics created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bass. Consequently, before we see the revived story on the screen, you can already read the story in the third volume of the comics – Hotel Forgetting.
In addition to Blackman, among the executive producers working on the third season is Jeff F. Kingia – who is also the director – as well as Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg and Jesse Macyun. Comic creators Wei and Bats will be co-producers.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it is still unknown when fans will be able to watch the new series of their favorite series, however, based on Netflix plans, we can assume that the premiere date will be next summer.
